Behold he walked his path alone,
A sacrifice for you and me;
Out in the forest lying prone,
In supplication yearnfully.

He lived and triumphed o’re that foe,
Because he had that inner peace;
That peace that only Christians know,
That, peace that flows and does not cease.

He lived nor did Christ ever sin,
For in that sacred interview;
He got the strength of force to win,
That God alone in heaven knew.
